Tree Felling, Forestry & Harvesting

Suffolk Woodchips Ltd operate both thinning and clear-fell operations. We leave a clear forest floor where ongoing work such as de-stumping, planting or underplanting is to be undertaken.

Using our biomass energy felling heads on the harvesters, we can process trees from 50mm upwards. The better parts of the stems are utilised for milling or other processing. The lower quality brash and tops are chipped into a biomass product for energy production.
 
We also carry out the removal of unsightly Leylandii hedges, chipping them for the energy market.

Safe Felling & Removal

Our latest process is the safe felling and removal of dead or dying limbs and dangerous tree clearance work. We utilise mechanical tree shears to prevent the possibility of injury from falling branches during manual felling works.
 
We operate a trailed wood chipper with it’s own chip hopper to contain any wood chip produced, which prevents any potential tree diseases spreading beyond the infected tree area.
